This is the next installment of my How to Save series (sorry it's taken me so long); this post will focus on Rite Aid. Like I have mentioned before the first and most important thing before couponing in any store is to read the stores coupon policy. Here is a link to Rite Aid's coupon policy (this is a PDF file): http://content.riteaid.com/stores/CustomerCouponAcceptancePolicyAugust2010.pdf
I would suggest not only reading this policy, but I would also print off a copy and keep in your binder or wherever you keep your coupons. This way if a problem occurs you can pull out your coupon policy and look over it with the associate. BE NICE, you will accomplish a whole lot more if you are kind and courteous.
So, what exactly does everything in this policy mean? I know for people just starting some of the terms and conditions are a little hard to understand. The most misunderstood policy (I did not know this for a long time) is that you can use multiple coupons on a single item. How? Let's say you are buying a candy bar, you have a coupon from the manufacturer, and there is also a store coupon in the Rite Aid flyer, you CAN use both of those to purchase the candy bar. Now, with that being said there is a possibility you can use 3 coupons on a single item. How? Okay, let's go back to the candy bar example, you have the manf. Coupon, the store coupon from the flyer, and a Rite Aid Video Value coupon, you CAN use all 3 of those coupons to buy the candy bar. There is another way to tell if you have a store coupon, video value coupon, or a manf. Coupon, that is by the first few numbers located on the bar code on the coupon. If the bar code starts with a "RC" you have a video value coupon (now, I know you are saying "Ashley! What's a Video Value coupon?" I'm getting to that I promise!) A manf. coupon usually starts with a "5". I am not sure what those out of the flyer start with.
What's a Video Value coupon? If you go to Rite Aid's website, this can be found on the homepage, about half-way down. There will be a link that says "View Videos Now", if you click on that link you will be taken to another page, what is called the "adperk" page. Here is a direct link to that page: http://riteaid.adperk.com/. In order to get credit for the videos you watch you will need to create an adperk account. Now, once you have an account, you can click one of the categories for this month, you will be re-directed to another page where you will find a list of the videos you can watch for that certain category. Now, you will have to actually watch these videos, because once they are over, you will have about 30 seconds to enter the CAPTCHA code. Each video will either give you a coupon or a credit for a larger value coupon. For example last month they had a $2 off $10 beauty purchase for watching all the videos under the beauty tab. These videos are short; the longest one I have seen was about 1 minute. All the coupons you earn will be saved to your account. After you watch and earn all the coupons you want, you will need to click on the tab that says "ALL REWARDS". You will be re-directed to a page where you can select the coupons you wish to print, you do not have to print the rewards all at once or even right then, they will be saved to your account until they expire.
Rite Aid's +Up Rewards:
In order to take part in RA's +Up Rewards program you will need to have one of their store cards. You can get them in-store, or sign up for one here: https://www5.riteaid.com/myriteaid/login?program=wellness. This program is very similar to the CVS Extra Care Bucks program. Each week in their flyer you will see products that say something like $5 +Up WYB (when you buy) $10 of these products... So in order to receive this reward you will have to reach the $10 limit BEFORE COUPONS! Your +Up Rewards will be printed on the bottom of your receipt. The one thing I like about RA is that they do not have a lot of limits on the number of rewards you can receive per offer. Like last week they had a $5 back WYB $15 in Lysol products, I was able to score that deal twice! Some offers are limited to one or two per customer; you just have to pay attention to what the ad says.
I hope this has helped you understand a little more about Rite Aid's coupon policy, and +Up Rewards. If you have any other questions please let me know! Sometimes it is hard to explain everything in writing, so if I missed anything I will be sure to make a correction.
Disclaimer: I am NOT an expert; I've only been doing this a short time. I'm just trying to share the things I have learned so far with you guys.
As always, thanks for reading!!
God Bless & Happy Couponing!!
